Wayne Mills – Left us peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the age of 72.
Wayne will be missed by his dear wife and best friend Arlene. Cherished Pops to Barry (Kristina), Catharine (Dwayne Newell), Jonathan (Brandee), and Tim (Anita). Fun loving Papa to Riley, Daphne, Kate, Charlotte, Lily, Zane, Winston, and Victor. Wayne will live in the memory of his father and buddy William Mills. Dear brother to Marcie (John) Perham. Wayne will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by his mother Anne Mills.
Wayne served as a police officer in the Welland area for 28 years, he was also a coach and mentor to many over the years. He could often be found watching the sunset in his backyard with his dog Patch and his friend Dick Sinclair.
Donations in memory of Wayne can be made to Ontario Brain Injury Association or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.
A graveside service for Wayne will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. Guests who will be joining in the graveside service are to meet in Pleasantview Funeral Home’s (2000 Merrittville Highway – on the corner of Highway 20) parking lot at 11:15 a.m. to proceed to the grave together. A reception will follow at Pleasantview Funeral Home Reception Centre.
