Ian passed away after a short illness at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. He is survived by his sons Mackenzie (Clare) and Andrew (Angela), grandchildren Harold, Adelaide and Freya and by his brother Andrew (Susan). He was predeceased by his wife Debbie, father Doug and mother Peggy. Ian was born in Cornwall, Ontario and lived on the family farm in Summerstown, Ontario and in Beauharnois, Quebec. The family moved to St. Catharines in 1961 and Ian attended Sir Winston Churchill where he met his future wife. Ian joined the Niagara Regional Police Service in 1976 and served with distinction until his retirement in 2011 as Detective Sergeant. Ian loved nothing more than laughing and sharing stories with friends and family, his dog by his side and good drink in his hand. He will be missed and fondly remembered by family, friends and former co-workers. In keeping with Ian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines, Ontario.
