Death of Retired NRPS Member – (S/Sgt) Louanne Campbell

CAMPBELL, Louanne – Peacefully passed away after a short illness, on Saturday, August 17th, 2019 at her residence at the age of 62. Beloved wife of Ken for 16 years. Loving daughter of the late John (2015) and Marina Schenck.  Cherished step mother of  Jeffrey and Courtney. Loving Nanny of Elijah and Alyssah. She will be sadly missed by her siblings John (Donna), Elizabeth (Rob Harold) and Joseph (Tracey). Daughter in law of the late George (2011) and Ina. Sister in law of Brian (Lori) and Dave (Cathy). She is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all of staff of  the Oncology Unit at the NHS, as well as all of the home care nurses and support staff. A special thank you to Susan and Cathy for all of their care and compassion that they provided to Louanne and our family. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday from 6-8p.m. and Friday from 1- 4p.m. & 6-8p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Friday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24th at 1p.m. at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin Street, St. Catharines. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Tender Wishes Foundation or Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.

Death of Retired NRPS Member – (S/Sgt) Ted Corkery

CORKERY, Edwin Patrick (Ted) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ted on August 5th at G.N.G.H. at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Betty for 69 years, devoted father of Judy (the late Donald) Canham and Jim (Cathy) Corkery. Adored grand- father of Mike and Jeremy Corkery, Amy Prochwnik and Todd Canham as well as seven great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by parents Michael and Mary Corkery. Ted retired from Niagara Regional Police Services after 35 years of dedicated service. He was then appointed to the Ontario Parole Board for six years. Ted was an avid New York Yankees Fan. The family would like to thank the staff at G.N.G.H. for their care and compassion in his final days. The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME , 5917 Main St., on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. A service to commemorate the life of Ted, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Death of PPAN Member – Ted Johnson

Ted passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of almost 61 (long) years to Gloria (nee Stewart). Cherished Dad & Pops of Craig, Chris (Charlotte) and Briar (Ken) Rendell and the late David (1961). Loving grandpa & Gugga to Caity, Kylie, Courtney, Leo and Seth. Much loved brother to Bob (Bunny), the late Pat (Darryl), and brother-in-law of Maureen (Gerry) Phelan. Ted will also be fondly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ted was a police officer with Niagara Regional Police for over 30 years. He was the past president and administrator of the NRPA. He served on the PAO board from 1970-1993. He was the CPA Executive Officer from 1988-1992. He also served on the Ontario Police Arbitration Commission from 1979-1992.  Following his retirement, Ted opened his own business, TJ Consulting for five years. He was the recipient of the Silver Jubilee Medal in 2015, the Dennis Latten Award from the PAO, and he was on the honour roll with the CPA. Ted helped to develop the Police Services Act, as well as helped to develop courses at OPC and Niagara College. He also refereed student performances in case simulations at Canadian Police College.

Ted was a board member of the Rose Craig Foundation and was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, Myrtle 337.  He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 613 in Fonthill. Ted was involved with the Kinsmen Club of St. Catharines for many years. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at LHIN and Hospice Niagara for their care and compassion.

In keeping with Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Saturday, July 27 from 3-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 613, 141 Highway 20 East, Fonthill on Monday, July 29 from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Rose Craig Foundation or Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.

Death of Retired NRPS Officer (Cst.) Frank Shennan

Shennan, Frank William – Passed away at the St. Catharines Hospital on Sunday June 9, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Jacqueline for 54 years. Predeceased by a daughter Vanessa Lynn in 1966. Brother of Sandra Shennan (Helen Jilks), Robert and Connie (Robert) Kilgour.

Frank served with the Niagara Regional Police for 27 years.*

Visitation will be held at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. The Funeral Service will be in the Chapel on Thursday June 13, 2019 at 1pm. A reception will follow in the Tallman Fireside Room. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or the Walker Family Cancer Centre.

*Constable Shennan commenced his policing career with the Town of Grimsby Police Force in 1970. Shortly thereafter he continued his career with the Niagara Regional Police Service after amalgamation in 1971. He spent most of his career in Grimsby before retirement in 1996 in where he was last assigned as a member of the Court Services Unit.
