It is with much sadness that the family of Bill Smith announce his passing on Saturday, October 18, 2014, only 4 months after losing his dear wife Carol. Bill passed away at home with the love of his family by his side after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 69. Bill will be forever loved and missed by his daughter Ashley (Gagnon) and his son Shaun. Dear and loving son of Daisy Campion. Missed by his brother Kevin Smith (Diane). Dear son-in-law of Lorraine and Donald Blake, and brother -in-law of Donald Blake Jr. Pre deceased by his father Frederick and his brother Brian. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Bill worked with the Niagara Regional Police for 31 years. After retiring he owned and operated a by-law enforcement agency in the Niagara Region. Bill was an avid golfer who enjoyed the times with his friends at Lookout Golf Club, traveling and above all, the times spent with his family.
Friends will be received by the family at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Thursday, October 23rd, from 7-9 pm. The funeral service to honour Bill’s life will take place at the funeral home on Friday, October24th at 11:00 am. At Bill’s request donations may be made to Wellspring Niagara.
