Death of PPAN Member (Retired S/Supt) Dave Gittings

On behalf of Chief Bryan MacCulloch and the Niagara Regional Police Service, we regretfully announce the passing of retired Staff Superintendent David Blinn Gittings in his 86th year. Staff Superintendent Gittings passed away early this morning after a lengthy illness. Staff Superintendent Gittings was a Police Officer for nearly 40 years commencing his career with the City of St Catharines Police Force in 1955. He continued his career with the Niagara Regional Police Service after amalgamation in 1971. He worked to some extent or other in almost every facet of policing and eventually rose to the rank of Staff Superintendent. After a distinguished career, he retired from the Niagara Regional Police Service in 1994.

Visitation will occur at the George Darte Funeral Home located at 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Thursday May 9th, 2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

A Funeral Service will occur at the Mountainview United Church located at 150 Glendale Avenue, St Catharines on Friday May 10th, 2019 at 12 noon.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

    Hi.. I was contacted by Bill Race yesterday and he asked if I would put something on Facebook for him, to do with a celebration of life he is having for his dad Pete in June… Is this not something that the Police Pensioners would not put out to the membership, and if so.. who would he contact ???
