Death of PPAN Member – Retired NRPS Officer Jim Caddis

CADDIS, James Passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Elena. Cherished father of Mark (Jeannie), Larissa (Rob), Keeley and Liz. Loving brother of the late Alwyn, Shona (Roy) and Thomas (Elaine). Son in law of Irina Thiessen. Cousin of Alec. He will be sadly missed his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was a proud Royal Marine, Regiment 40 Commando. He was a Police Officer with the Niagara Regional Police Service for 33 years. Jim was a cofounder of the Niagara Regional Police Pipes and Drum Band. In the last few years, Jim enjoyed being a member of the City of Thorold Pipe Band. He enjoyed teaching Bag Pipes to many students who he also developed friendships with. No matter where Jim went, he was sure to form friendships along the way. He made an impact in many lives. A sincere thank you to Dr. Tim Tatzel for all of his years of friendship and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME , 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Monday, November 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will take place on Tuesday, November 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Jim received the gift of life 25 years ago with a kidney transplant. Our family would ask you to consider being an Organ Donor to pass on the Gift of Life.
