CECCATO, Louis Fredrick “Fred” , passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday November 9th, 2016 at the St. Catharine’s General Hospital, at 77 years of age. Beloved husband of Ann for 48 years. Loving father of Shelly Greene (Blake) and Christopher Pettay (Michelle). Proud grandfather of Micheal Greene (Sara), Lauren (Sean) Andrew Kennedy (Karissa) and loving great-grandfather to Mason, Dakota, Owen, Mitchell, Emma, Bentley and Riley. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Also, survived by his pals Ronny and Bren. Lovingly remembered by his sister Dixie Robinson. Predeceased by his parents Louis and Ann and brother Victor Ceccato. Although Fred will miss watching his great grand babies grow here on earth, we know he will keep a watchful eye on them up in heaven. Fred retired from the Niagara Regional Police after over 30 years of service. He also dedicated over 50 years of service as a member of the Niagara Falls Optimist Club. A service to celebrate Fred’s life will be held at the Niagara Falls Optimist Club on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at 2pm, luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Niagara Children’s Center or bring an unwrapped gift to the celebration to be donated to the Kinsmen Gift of Love would be appreciated by the family. Fred would always go out of his way to bring a smile to the children’s faces and loved to help out these great organizations.
