With our condolences to the family and friends of Robert (Knobby) Richardson:
Message from Brian Richardson:
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my father Robert James Richardson age 87 years. Dad has faced many tough battles in his life but none …as great as the one over the past few years against cancer. This last fight though went the full 12 rounds before he lost the battle.
Dad is pre-deceased by his parents Stewart and Mae Richardson and his older brother Stewart Jr (Sam).
He leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate of 63 years Nancy, sons Robert Bruce (Loretta) and Brian (Margie), grandchildren Scott (Kristen), Alescia (Rob), Adam (Rebecca) and Brett (Carissa) along with seven Great Grandchildren Tristan, Sage, Cole, Everett, Quinn, Hudson and Amity. As well as sister-in-laws Susan (Bruce) Erskine, Marie (Reg) Holmes, Helen (Ernie) Linton, Jessie (Chuck) Stoddart and many nieces and nephews.
Robert (Knobby) Richardson was a former Ontario Amateur Heavy-weight boxing champion (1956) and worked for the St. Catharines (Niagara Regional) Police Service where he retired as a Staff Sergeant after 38 years of service in 1987. He enjoyed his summers in the Kincardine area his many trips to Florida each winter, his many grandchildren, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Cremation will have taken place and there will be no service.
