Death of Retired NRPS Officer – (S/Supt) James Moody Sr.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Thursday March 18, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 65 years to Ethel (Marazzo) Moody. He will be especially missed by his loving daughter Debby Willms and her husband Wally. He also leaves behind his sons Dan and Jim Moody and his daughters-in-law Moira and Anne. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lindsey (Andrew), Jennifer (Anthony), Kimberly (Paolo), Leo (Elizabeth), Megan and Jakob and by his five great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Gwen Jones and Michael Moody. Predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Jim retired as a Staff Superintendent after a long and distinguished career in policing, having served the citizens of Niagara Falls for 38 years. Cremation has taken place. Respecting the government restrictions of COVID-19, including the requirement of pre-booked appointments (by calling 905-358-3513 between 9 am and 5 pm), friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls visiting Wednesday March 24th from 1-4 p.m. A private Funeral Service in celebration of his life will follow with interment at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. Death of Retired NRPS Officer – (Cst) John Brkljacic

With profound sadness, the family of John Brkljacic announce his passing at the Welland Hospital on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the age of 85. John is reunited with his wife Anita who passed in 2013. Cherished father of Sandy Henderson and Lynn Sacco (Remo). Remembered with love by his grandchildren Jaime, Cory (Tisha) and Mathew, and great-grandchildren Makayla and Jackson. Also missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son Paul, parents John Sr. and Milka and son-in-law Charlie Henderson. John was a police officer and served the community for many years before retiring from Niagara Regional Police Service in 1989. A private family service was held at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland on Saturday morning before John was laid to rest in the family plot at Woodlawn Cemetery. Death of Retired NRPS Officer – (Cst) Ray Seebach

It is with broken hearts that we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, son, father and grand-father. Ray Paul Seebach of Fort Erie passed away on March 11th 2021 at the age of 67. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years Brenda, his mother Anne, his children Christine (Jason) and Rob, his step-children Renee (John) and Adam, his grandchildren Kaidan, Brandon, Amber, Hannah and Zach, his step-grandchildren Nolan, Makayla and Gavin and his brother and sister in-law Bruce and Wendy. He will also be missed by other family members and friends.

He was a great husband, avid golfer and baseball player and spent 31 years serving with the Niagara Regional Police Force.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre. Due to COVID-19, a private family gathering will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada.

Death of Retired NRPS Officer – (Sgt) Brian Laderoute

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Sunday January 24, 2021 at 75 years of age. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Martin) of 52 years. Dear father of Michele and Brent (Lyn Trudeau); a step-grandfather of Stevie Trudeau and a stepfather of Jody Lowry. Cherished brother of Gary (Linda), Ken (Tia), Keith (Kathleen) and David (Jackie). Brian is the adored middle son of Wilfred and his wife Phyllis (nee Hounslow). Brian retired from Niagara Regional Police Services after 25 years of service. He enjoyed the antics of eight cats, he was adept at handiwork, he took pleasure in nature and hiking, and he found joy and luck in occasional outings to the local casino. In honouring Brian’s wishes cremation has taken place to be followed by a private family service will take place. Memorial donations to Parkinson Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Death of Former PPAO Director/Treasurer – Joan Morrison

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Sadly we have learned of the passing of long time PPAO member and past director Joan Morrison. Those of us that knew Joan will remember her fondly for her caring nature and loving smile.

The PPAO Board of Directors extend our condolences to Joan’s family at this difficult time. The PPAO will make a donation to the charity chosen on behalf of the PPAO membership. We will also add Joan’s obituary to our Last Post web site page.

Death of Retired NRPS Officer – (Sgt.) Mike Gamble

It is with deep sadness the family of Michael announces his passing at his home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Cherished father of Sarah Gamble of Burlington and Michael (Mikey) Gamble (Naomi) of Niagara Falls. Dearly loved brother of Helen (Honu) MacIver (Sandy) of Welland and Marion (Doody) Gamble (Jane) of London. Loving uncle of Stephanie Gamble of Guelph and Matthew Gamble (Natika) of Baden. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 30 years Micheline Gamble (nee Bisson), parents Helen and Marion “Alabama” Gamble. Detective Sergeant Gamble commenced his career with the Niagara Regional Police Service in 1971 as an eighteen year old Police Cadet. In 1974 he achieved the rank of Police Constable, and in 1986 was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. During his career he had various assignments which included uniform patrol duties in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Welland. He had further assignments to St. Catharines and Niagara Falls CIB and Street Crime Units, the Fraud Unit, Intelligence Unit, Major Crime Unit, and was also a Polygraph Examiner for the Service. He was very active in the Niagara Regional Police Association and served as President of the NRPA. After a 36 year career, Detective Sergeant Gamble retired from the Service in 2007. Michael went on to work as an Inspector for 10 years with Brock University Campus Security Services. Michael was known for his complete dedication to his family and his career. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him would recognize his generosity, kindness and witty humour. Michael took the utmost care in loving his family and ensuring all their needs were met. Arrangements entrusted to the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland. A private service has taken place.
