The following may be of interest to any of us or a member of our families who may have mobility issues and are considering specific mobility devices or renovations to our homes including renovations to make a secondary suite for a senior or a first floor occupancy. (Healthy Homes Tax Credit)This information may not apply to the majority of pensioners however it may be of importance to some of us who may be unaware of specific tax credits and the upcoming expiry date of the Ontario Healthy Homes tax Credit Program.1. Ontario Healthy Homes Renovation Tax Credit Program apples to seniors 65 and over (or eligible family members) and allows for claims up to a maximum of $10,000.00 with a maximum credit of up to $$1,500.00. for mobility devices and specific home renovations.

*****NOTE ***** As of January 1st 2017 this tax credit will no longer be available2. Ontario. And Federal Medical Expense Tax Credit – regardless of age , the medical expense tax credit also applies to some expenses for home mobility devices and specific renovations?
