Hello,
After having had to cancel last year’s tournament, we will now be going ahead with the tournament this year.
So save the date – Monday, September 20, 2021 at Peninsula Lakes Golf Course in Fenwick.
There are going to be a few changes while we navigate our way through changes to pandemic restrictions during provincial re-opening, and the limitations imposed by the golf course.
There will be no sit-down dinner, but we will be hosting our traditional pig roast at the halfway house. Tee times will be individually booked. There will be some changes to our prize tables as well, but each golfer will still get a goodie bag.
$150 includes golf, cart, BBQ lunch, gifts and entry into our premium prize contests.
Hole sponsorship remains at $250.
We understand that the past eighteen months have been a difficult time for everyone, but we hope that we can still count on your generosity to support ups in whatever way you can, be that by way of sponsorship, golfing or donations.
I have attached information and registration forms. Please let me know if you would like me to reserve spots for you.
If you have any other questions, please contact me directly.
Many thanks,
Lynn

Subject: Information about optometrists’ withdrawal from Ontario’s Health Insurance Plan
Hi there
Impact for Ontarians ages 19 and younger and 65 and older
The Ontario Association of Optometrists is planning to withdraw from Ontario’s Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) on September 1, 2021.
Currently, OHIP pays for one annual routine eye exam for Ontarians ages 19 and younger and 65 and over.
This could mean some Ontarians can’t get a routine eye exam
After the withdrawal from OHIP:
What does this mean for plan members?
If your plan covers members or dependents ages1 9 years old and younger, or 65 and over:
We’ll continue to repay eligible claims for eye exams for Ontarians ages 20 to 64, inclusive, as usual.
We’re continuing to monitor this
We’re continuing to monitor the situation through the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA). We’ll advise you of any changes.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
This may affect a lot of people seeking eye care as of 01 Sept 2021. Something is not right with our system. We hear of continuing battles with the Teachers Unions and the Medical Associations trying to get our governments to sit down a negotiate contracts for their livelihood. In this situation the PPAO Board of Directors support the request by CARP in their Action Plan.
If you feel the same please follow the links to voice your concerns.
Thank you,
On behalf of the PPAO Board of Directors
Terry Hill

Doug Nichol passed away at United Mennonite Home, on Monday, July 26, 2021, in his 80th year. Loving husband and best friend of Diane. Doug worked for the Niagara Regional Police Department for 31 years. The “Slug”, as his golfing buddies call him, was an avid golfer and long time member of 20 Valley Golf Course. Everyone always enjoyed his wit and great sense of humour. He was a very loving, kind and compassionate man. “Dougie” will be greatly missed. Many heartfelt thanks to all of our dear friends for always being there throughout this journey. Special thanks for the wonderful care given to Doug by the staff at “Meadows” at United Mennonite Home. Also, special thanks for the caring support from the Alzheimer Society, Senior Outreach and the LHIN. In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service or celebration of life. If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, GRIMSBY, 905-945-2755. www.smithsfh.com
